The Southern Empire Saga

Fall of a Kingdom

The heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Boraan must visit the Seers in their sixteenth year or the Kingdom will be no more.

That prophecy had guided the royal family for hundreds of years, but now the Princess Myriana has been taken whilst travelling for her visit. Only Dorrin, leader of her guards, escaped the ambush. Running to try and spread the word and get help, whilst being chased by an enemy seeking more than just the capture of a single princess.

Calmagyr Ironsson knows none of this. Given a chance to live out his heroic childhood fantasies when the opportunity arises to join the legendary Royal Rangers, Cal journeys toward Boraan’s capital. Accompanied by Farsighter, a man whose past goes far beyond some of Cal’s wildest dreams, the chance encounter with the fleeing Dorrin throws Cal into adventure far sooner than he could have believed possible.

Rather than joining the Rangers, Cal finds himself on a mission to rescue the Princess. Accompanied by Farsighter and Dorrin, they find an enemy that has already planned for victory, but must be defeated if the Kingdom is to survive.

A journey that will lead to the very edges of the lands of the Southern Kingdoms and to knowledge thought lost for thousands of years.

An Empire Forged

For the moment Princess Myriana is safe, but what of the kingdom?

Refuge with the dwarves can only last so long and she must act quickly. The enemy still hold northern Boraan and make other moves throughout the Sothern Kingdoms.

Calmagyr Ironsson had hoped to return to his simpler life of training to join the Royal Rangers, but now he finds himself accompanying the Princess as she sets out to gain the aid of her neighbours, but how much aide can they expect from countries they already know to have fallen under the Mythraan’s influence.

Tamala has a plan, but there is no guarantee of success.

Whilst the Princess and Cal strive to bring help, Tamala strikes out with Duke Luda to learn more about her ability to use Source Magic, and what it could mean for the people of Boraan. Whilst she endeavours to discover what she can, she must also try to learn more about the dark forces arrayed against them. Any little detail could turn the tide and Tamala cannot afford to miss one.

It is left to Avrim Collett, Commander of the Royal Guard to organise their forces and start to push the enemy back, buying time for Cal and Myriana to bring aid. It is no longer just for their home of Boraan.

Now they fight for all the Southern Kingdoms.

An Empire is born

The Southern Empire has united to face their foe, but how can they do it? Hundreds of people from the north of M’ur have been taken and their only possible use leads to darkness.

Empress Myriana has little choice but to once again send her friends to face the enemy.

Now, the most important thing is information. Why did the enemy take so many? Why the expedition to the forgotten dwarf city in the north? And what does the appearance of daemons, not seen for over a thousand years, mean for the people, not just of the new empire, but for their world as a whole.

The Helmers and the eastern J’dar peoples have joined the fight, but even their numbers mean little until a plan can be put in place.

Whilst the elite Rangers, Scouts and Guides of the former kingdoms unit to start harrying their foe, Calmagyr and Tamala start the search for answers. Cal tyring to fathom the Mythraan plan for the dwarvern forges, whilst Tamala searches the old Shaler settlement of Needle Spire for clues.

This leaves Asrak, the Source Guide, to search out for anything he can learn about the ancient myth of the Trinity. Is it something that could help them, or will it see the ultimate victory of the Mythraan and Daemon.

A Land Reborn

An army is on the march.

The Southern Empire has barely formed but already they face the destruction of their way of life.

Still reeling from the loss of two of those closest to him, Calmagyr Ironsson has to come to terms with a lost past that no-one could have prepared him for.

Avrim Collett finds himself in command of the last, desperate attempt to hold the advancing Mythraan army. An army that is unknowingly led by a Daemon prince and his mage.

Between the two of them have they got the skill and the willpower to be able to hold the enemy or will the tide wash over them.

With unexpected help they have a chance, but time is against them, and they still need a way to defeat the Daemon Prince’s mage before he opens the way for the Daemon’s own horde to descend on them all.

The final stand will be made at the mythical Lighter city of Angorala. Hidden for millennia, the ancient lost city holds the key to both their survival, and their destruction.

The final chapter of the Southern Empire Saga brings events rushing to a climax, but can the forces of the Empire win out?
